Last year a late freeze left me with almost no Iris blooms at all, but this year looks promising so far with the Short Bearded ones just starting this week. Here is Wizard of Hope. I will need to divide many of the SBI this year, so anyone looking for trades let me know.
Edited to say: I think I have enough people now to trade with for this year.

SDB Iris are looking good this year!
Do you know wat the tagless one was supposed to be? Might give a frame of reference.
All I know is that it is a short bearded. Measures 10.5" tall for me. I am going to have to read back through all my D-mail and see if it it is one someone traded with me. I sure think it's pretty.
Susan-
I wanted to respond to your trade offer.
I love the little guys, and would love to trade. I can either trade other little guys, or I have dozens of named TBs.
I just dug a really nice patch of desert passion(it had already finished blooming and they've been repotted of course...don't think I'm going to be putting these back in the ground anywhere), to make room for my new irises I got here:

Plus, like I said, many other named tbs, and sdb, and a few bbs. I'm not in any rush, but when you get ready to trade, I am ready, if interested. Just email me if interested, and I can email you a list.
or you can preview my iris on my journal pages. I think most of them are on there, but haven't checked it in a while

Lovely iris - I am enjoying every photo!
I'm really enjoying these little guys this year.
Me too!
Boo is an "oldie but Goodie" It was hybridized by Lynn Markham here in MA and still on the median symposium list of favorites. With Americans' obsession with 'the new' it is fun to have a mainstay which gives people pleasure.
I have to agree with you. I found its bloom very cheery when it popped out! Dorothy Willott was out here in New Mexico for the Aril and Median Trek. She told us that most of the SDBs out here looked smaller than usual back in the rest of the country. This one is only about 6 inches high, which I think is short. It's colors don't seem as dark as those in plant files either. I am hoping that next year it will grow taller and its colors will darken a bit.
As long as they grow well & show off they are useful. Climate can make a difference.
These plants look very healthy. This is their first year in my garden, so it could be that when they are more settled they will be taller and more colorful. The judging book says the clumps should be 2 to 3 years old. Mine is less than 1 year old.
A lot of familiar little faces here, ladies. I can't wait till they start blooming here!

Laurie, does the 4th one from the top look like one I got from you? I know most of mine did come from you but I also got a few from other people. My goal this summer is to get them all labeled correctly.
Susan
I recognize some Spoon intros there, Moby. I love My Kayla.
Susan, you didn't order Sparky from me, but I might have sent it to you as an extra bonus iris. Unfortunately, I didn't keep track of the bonuses I sent back then. Mary ordered Sparky from me, though, so if you do trading with her, you might have gotten it that way, too.
I can tell you that the cute "lost tag" one under Sparky in this thread did NOT come from me. It's a beautiful little thing, but I don't recognize it.
