Just curious....mine are getting pretty tall right now and are starting to fall over.....would pinching them help them to become bushier??? Thanks in advance...
Do snapdragons need to be pinched back?
Yup - I pinch mine. That way you get more flower spikes, too!
Ditto--they get much bushier, and bloom like crazy later. I just pinch right above a set of leaves/side stems, and it goes from there.
Do I pinch it several times or just the once? Sorry for the questions I am so new at this.
I usually pinch it back a couple of times - the main growing stem first after the second set of leaves, then each tip that grows from there, once again after two sets of leaves. But I am sure others have their favorite ways, so I am kind of interested if this is the best way myself.
Okay well I did my first pinch off a week ago and my plants already look better - thanks!
Yes, I do it the same as Zarebeth. Plus, then you will be pinching off the dead flower spikes after bloom, and that makes them go crazy!
