Thank-you to everyone who sent me seeds, most of my 51 jugs are sprouting, here in Ottawa Zone5a :)
This is my 1st experience and the people I work with, were looking at me pretty strange this winter, when I explained what I was doing with the dirty pop bottles from the recycling bins.
What I am not sure of (yes, I have read every website) is when should I take the duct tape off the jugs?
A response from any experienced winter sowers would be appreciated.
Thanks again
wendy
Seedlings :) What next?
I open my milk jugs completely (floding back at the hinge) as soon as most seeds have sprouted.

if it gets warm out and the lids/covers are still on.. the lil babies can fry.... I lost a few last year when i was out of town
I, like Karen, open them up ... but if the evenings are gonna get cold, i close them again... basically a hinge. Once it's warm, no chance of frost again, i cut off the lid completely.
I;m assuming you are getting sunny days.... good time to let them breathe.
