Not exactly about germination, but when do I transplant?

Is there a "rule of thumb" regarding when to move plants outdoors? I'm not talking about cold-wise, but plant age/height wise. I have mostly annuals and perennial flowers, some gourds, peas, edamame and a few vines. I know my gourds are ready, but I am unsure about the rest. Our last frost date here is the 15th, so I think I am OK moving them. The 10 day forecast doesn't have temperatures below 46 at night. Hopefully no more freezing nights!

It depends in part on how big your seedlings pots are... if the plant has filled the pot with roots, then it's ready to either be planted out or to be moved to a bigger pot. Be sure to "harden off" your seedlings for several days by gradually exposing them to increasing amounts of sun, wind, and cool night temps before planting them into your garden.
