Cute little toilet tissue tube pots

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Recently I learned that I can make cute little biodegradeable pots from toilet paper tubes, or for deeper pots, from paper towel tubes. Here's how.

Lay the tube down and flatten it, then cut it in half. Cut 1/2 inches into the tube from one end at the folds and halfway between. Round up the tube again, and fold the cuts in toward the center, interlocking them as you would to close a cardboard box. If you didn't cut far enough, make the cuts a bit deeper, but be careful because the pot won't sit level if you cut too far.

Here are my first ones, I made the cuts a bit too deep but you can see that it makes a cute little pot with drainage and it is free! I love making something practical out of nothing!

I have a ton of tp tubes and knew that I could use them for something. Thanks for the instructions!

I like the toilet paper tubes for shipping small rooted plants. You put the root ball in first and it offers a lot of protection if surrounded by paper wads and other small plants.
