Has anyone around here ever grown celeriac? I believe that it should be planted in the Fall, so I started some from seed with plans to do just that last year ... but then there was a terrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrible AXident and I lost my seedlings. Now I'm contemplating starting some for the Spring, but I'm looking for someone who has had success with it and can recommend whether I should hold off until next Fall or not.
Thanks
Growing Celeriac
I love celariac. Please grow some, and then feed me!
Mmmm ... goodie. Sounds like a fine plan. Now that you mention it, it seems weird that we haven't done dinner together.
I'm going to give it a whirl, if for no other reason than an experiment. Will keep you posted on my success!
Celeriac is grown just like celery, so, no, you don't have to plant it in the fall. I would imagine it would probably die from hard frosts before it matured if you did that.
It's supposed to be easier to grow than celery and of course you don't have to blanch it like celery.
