Ditto...going to my oldest DD's email...too cute Diane!!!

Shenandoah Valley, VA

I left it running on my computer and went into the kitchen. I heard Jello barking - a real puppy version of a guard dog "Intruder! Intruder!" She was standing in the doorway of the office barking at the puppy on the computer. LOL

I don't know when I've seen anything so cute. :>)

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Now THAT would've made for a great video!!

Lexington, VA(Zone 6a)

Do ya think that dog needs some water? LOL Reminds me of Phoebe when she's licking the inside of the car windows :)

This is an old one but I had never seen it before this week - love it!

Great clips!

Rcn, I adored that freestyle - thanks for posting it! My breeders do that ... and if I prove to myself that I'm able, I may give it a newbie-whirl as well. Although, *THAT* performance was phenomenal and I cannot imagine even coming close.

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

Adoreable pug! Now the computer screen has been licked "clean"!

The dog dancing was incredible! I've seen it done several time on "Pet Stars" (The Animal Planet, Channel 40) on Saturday @ 10:00a.m.

Metro DC, MD(Zone 7a)

What the heck happened to your puppy clip, Hart?

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

I can't get it to run either. :(

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

I tried a search for pug puppy licking on that site, but there were too many results.....

Try this- youtube to the rescue I hope

That's funny!

Falls Church, VA(Zone 7b)

Ha, ha, ha!! A friend e-mailed that slobbering pug luckin' video to me this past week!! I really liked the dog-dancing show, thanks!!

I don't have any videos of my Jack Russell doing his thing but will try to catch him soon. I found a mvie clip of a JRT that you guys might like. Two videos--watch both of them, they're funny!!

my neighbor has a JRT puppy- the absolutely cutest thing. What she lacks in size to my dog, she makes up in energy and spunk for sure!

Falls Church, VA(Zone 7b)

I am sure your neightbor's JRT is adorable---their impish looks belie their strong character. Jacks think they are big dogs really. They are feisty and pushy and have a mind of their own. We used to live next door to a guy who had a big boxer-Great Dane mix named Duke. Duke was HUGE!! He was like big brother to Hutch. Hutch was just a puppy then and full of demons. And he took on Duke like police dog training dumy. Duke was responsible for taming this Tasmanian Devil. I give Duke full credit for Hutch's good behavior today.

Metro DC, MD(Zone 7a)

I used to live with a JRT. I'm a Dane person and I stand by my opinion that JRT's are "much bigger dogs," so-to-speak, than Danes!

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

speaking of big dogs, there was some kind of w olfhound at the Crofton dog park yesterday. Tan and scraggly-shaggy, looked like a horse walking along with the Labs and etc., dwarfing them!

Metro DC, MD(Zone 7a)

Sounds like it may have been an Irish Wolfhound - they come in different colors, one of which is light (wheaten?).

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

I think so.
Just looked at AKC pictures.
But a Dane is a more attractive big dawg- surely you agree....

Metro DC, MD(Zone 7a)

No comment. :)

I actually intend to get an Irish Wolfhound one day. They are pretty wonderful. If not shaggy creatures.

Falls Church, VA(Zone 7b)

I love Irish Wolfhounds!! They are gentle giants. But I think they are banned in the area. I read something about "no wolf breeds aloowed". Not sure what exactly was included, though, and if it was just D.C. It is even rare to see a German Shepherd around here. Everyone seems to have small dogs or Labs.

Metro DC, MD(Zone 7a)

I was under the impression that a "wolf breed" is a dog that is literally at least part wolf(?), unlike an Irish Wolfhound (right?). I can't imagine why they would be banned other than for their sight-hound instincts. Then again, there seems to be discrimination against BIG dogs, so who knows ...

I've been seeing more G. Shepherds around here recently; I love them, so it always makes me happy when I see them. Remember that totally dumb tv show from the 70's (on for maybe one season, Saturday mornings) called "Run, Joe, Run!" LOL ... Joe was a GSD and I ~hearted~ him Big Time.

Shenandoah Valley, VA

On wolfhounds.

"The hounds were used as war dogs and as guards of property and herds. They were also used to hunt deer, boar, and wolves and were held in such high esteem that battles were fought over them."
http://www.irishwolfhounds.org/history.htm

"The name originates from its purpose (wolf hunting) rather than from its appearance."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_Wolfhound

There used to be a guy in Front Royal who had one of those wolf/dog crosses. Biggest dog I've ever seen in my life. I swear it filled the back of his small pickup.

Falls Church, VA(Zone 7b)

Wow--must have been huge!! Yes, wolfhounds have a great heritage!! I always loved them for their raggedy coats and "beards." They have a sad but devoted look in their eyes. Dogs with rough coats and beards have a special attraction for me......

"Run, Joe?" Another dumb TV show?? No, I didn't see that one but I watched "Rinny-Tin-Tin." LOL!! Not dumb, Rin-Tin was ahero!!

Metro DC, MD(Zone 7a)

Trust me, Run, Joe, Run was cut from the "ShaZam" cloth. Utterly ridiculous ... and fabulous.

here ya go wrightie- what a dog!!
I had to shield Addy's view of the screen before she went into visually induced artificial heat.

Metro DC, MD(Zone 7a)

Snortie SNORT!!! OMG, Thank You, Sally!!! I have goosebumps! Oh how I fretted over Joe's whereabouts each Saturday at the young age of 9 ...

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

haha. he is quite studly

Metro DC, MD(Zone 7a)

GSD pups on Today Show right now

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

I guess I missed them by the time I figured out my stupid remote ,boo- Gift a Guy won't Hate? true- If only I could run to the door with my tail wagging every time he comes home.....

LOL--Sallyg!! You get me in stitches!!

OOhh, "Run, Joe, Run" had such a dramatic billing and preview!! Didn't live up to its advertising, eh? That dog was such a showman--a great stuntsdog--Evil Kinevil type!! A beautiful GSD!!

I never owned a GSD because people were so afraid of them, or some had unpredictable behavior. I know they make for a great guard dog. My JRT is only opposed to the mailman!! He thinks everyone else comes over to see him to play. GSD were almost solely the choice for blind guidedogs, but nowadays, I only see yellow Labs.........The thing about Labs is that they get so fat......We had a black Lab at one time ("Velvet") and I watched her eat--she scarfed down food without chewing and swallowing.....

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Anyone see this one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqbVbPvlDoM

Shenandoah Valley, VA

Wasn't that cute?!! What a smart dog.

Falls Church, VA(Zone 7b)

Oh, that looks like the same dog and dance as the one that rcn posted, I think. Looks like a collie. Lovely coat.

Here I go, cross-posting again:

I would like to PURCHASE a second-hand X-pen, so if anyone has one on offer, please let me know. It would need to be big enough to contain a Labrador Retriever or larger dog.
