March Mayhem Butterfly/Hummingbird Seed Lists

(Cathy), MO

This thread is for posting seeds you are sending in.

Morgantown, WV(Zone 6a)

I won't know what I'm sending until I finish WSing. I should have a lot of leftovers.
But one thing sure - I'll send Liatris spicata for anyone who would want it. Let me know how much you want & I'll put your name on it. If the grocery bag full isn't enough I'll brave the cold & harvest more. LOL

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Cathy, i have you covered.

(Cathy), MO

Thanks! :-)

(Zone 7a)

Here's a start of my available seed -

Buddleia - white (offspring may not be same as parent, which is a dwarf, meaning only that leaf nodes are closer together, but plant still gets up to at least 6')

Digitalis purpurea

Inula helenium

Helenium (possibly helenium) - clear yllw daisies in clusters at top of 6' stoloniferous stems - vigorous & pretty in meadow

Hemerocallis (Daylily) The pod parent (a seedling) of this one might not be considered very remarkable. The flowers are medium-small, coral-orange, with petals recurving like the Turks Cap lily. The plant itself is low. But! This daylily grows in shade where others will not and spreads and produces tons of branches and flowers. Pollen parents of this seed were Victorian Star and Dinner Plate.

Impatiens - offspring will be mostly white with small numbers of many other colors

Lunaria annua

With the help of CORDELEDAWG's butterfly gardening guide and Google I've composed my haves-list. It's a lot longer than I thought! Hope you don't mind......

Amazing, I didn't even realise I had seeds of that many butterfly-attracting plants! Even more surprising: I have hummer-attracting plants, even though we don't even have those over here!

However, just let me know if there's any seeds that your interested in. Just to make things a bit easier for me, please also send a d-mail if you do....
