Mexican Firebush Seed ?

Marble Falls, TX(Zone 8a)

Can someone help me please? :o )

I am trying to figure out where/what the seeds look like from this plant. I am assuming that the berries are the seeds, is this correct? If they are do they need to dry up on the plant and then is whats left actually the seed?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Here is a link for you and some info. Sorry that was all I could find on the seeds.

The flowers of the firebush (Hamelia patens Jacquin) are reddish-orange, small, and tubular. If pollinated, they are followed by a many-seeded berry which ripens black. The flowers are transient things opening around the middle of the night and wilting by midday

thanks Carol,

I have seen that page before ..........one picture of the berries show what I am suspecting to be the seeds ......... I suspect that the seeds are the tiny little thing that is left after the beery dries up at the end of the stem .......... I am going to sew a couple of those things and see if anything happens !!!!

you can see one in this photo .........it is where a berry has dried up at
