I tried looking all over and can't find where we discussed the ID. I think we decided on 'rough sunflower.' Does that sound right?
Critter, not choc daisy ID? per helianthus? rough sunflower?
I still think it's Heliopsis helianthoides var. scabra.

Thanks for directing me to my own post LOL. I thought you were in on that discussion. I can now add it to my journal for safekeeping. I abused it badly by moving it during the drought but I got some seeds from it just in case. Great plant.
Definitely a great plant! I think you might be right, claypa... sorry, I don't remember seeing that ID from you before... I must have missed an earlier thread!

I'd been thinking it was a variety of Helianthus, but we couldn't quite make it match up with any of the species in PF.
