purple poppy
Gorgeous!poppy.Looks like laurens grape poppy.
Hi folks, yes, i did sow some Laurens Grape the year before,
i guess this one may be self sown from that lot.
thanks for the i.d. skimper, and the trade Robynznest.
I planted some red oriental poppy seeds early spring, around May. They didnt do anything, nothing germinated on that spot. Now, do you think i can have some hope that maybe it will germinate next spring?
I really don't don't if it will or not. But if you would like to try again I have some I could send you.
Robin
Oh thank you Roby, what kind do you have?
Dmailing you.
wow the laurnes grape is beautiful
hi Janet,
it's a lovely picture, nice combination of colors.
I have that yellow one growing too, it's a standout!
i'm not a big fan of yellow flowers, but that Escholtzia is definately a fave.
I also have a pinkish-purplish variety of it, if you'd like to try it, i can send you some seeds.
That's sad that your attempts at the other poppies have not been succesful,
i wonder why? they grow easily for me, like weeds!
i have grown a few different varieties of P.somniferum, and have collected lots of seed for a scatter mix, sort of throw it about the garden and forget.
and they come up well.
i have seed to share if you'd like some,
mail me!
poppies are really beautiful, even the foliage is a standout,
i have been collecting seeds from internet sources, for our next winter here.
should be a wonder of colors next Spring.
the pic is of another variety of Escholtzia, it was called 'Mother of Pearl'
grown from seed.
bye for now.
