Blackberry Lily Seeds

Hillsboro, KY(Zone 6a)

How do you know when it is time to harvest the seeds? E-mail me at ajr11698@yahoo.com.
Thanks, Arlinda

Arlinda, the seed pod will turn brown and begin to burst. Inside are the seeds which collectively look like a blackberry. Brenda

Can't these seeds be sprouted in that distilled water-peroxide mixture like daylilies? I'm going to try it. I have some seeds that are several years old, and as an experiment, see if this germinates them.

Buttoneer,

Blackberry lilies are in the Iris family, so you might want to look for Iris seed starting tips, more than daylilies.

Not sure how long the seed keeps for; but, starting them in plain old peaty seed starting mix worked for me.

I soaked the seeds for a couple of day changing the water a few times. Then I planted them as usual .... they started coming up about two weeks later.
