To my way of thinking the zones are misleading. Our zone 7 and yours are still two totally different climates. While the zones, as originally laid out, were indicators of the low temperatures, I still doubt that other zone 7 people can get as cold as us for as long as us.

I'm ready to dump the zone crud anyway. Hasn't helped anything live here. I have a couple of way out of zone items that have done much better than the inzone stuff.lol

How true. Plants have died that should have survived in colder zones and those I refuse to replace with the same cultivar. If they don't like it here they go to compost.
