My MIL just brought me some Hungarian Hot peppers 2 of them are red and there are 3 others that started turning red and the rest are all green.
Are the red ones the only ones i can get the seeds from???
Do peppers continue to ripen?
Thanks
Michelle
Different kind of pepper seed question than other post.
Your best chance of viable seeds are the ones that have turned red. There will be a few seeds that will germinate in the less ripe peppers, but there will be more under-developed ones. The ones that are just turning may be decent....but peppers have so many seeds, the ones that are completely red should provide plenty.
The peppers will not ripen seeds after they are picked. (green bell peppers in the supermarket are just the un-ripe version of other colored, and they do not ripen any more)
Thank you... I will try them out.
Thanks again.
Michelle
