I am thinking that air layering would be best , but I do not want to do that , if something else easier will work. Anybody had any luck rooting the variegated Schefflera? If so how long does it take?
Thanks, Sharon
schefflera propagation
Sharon,
Can't remember how long it took as it was a few years back, but mine rooted without any problem.

I find schefflera very easy to root. I usually just take a cutting dip it in rooting hormone and stick it in potting mix, keep it damp and in a couple of weeks its rooted. I started with one plant and started lots from that. Hope that helps

I have rooted Schefflera several times and it is easy just in moist potting soil. However, I have always done this in the summer when it is pretty warm. I know some plants don't root well when they are cold, but not sure if Schefflera falls into this category.
