Italian plum picture

My Italian plums have about a week to go before I want to eat them. I love the taste of these. They are so sweet.

Your tree is having a good year!

I picked mine a week ago, but there weren't very many after the spring frost.

Oooooh! I am sooooo jealous! Beautiful crop.
We wait all year for the Italian prunes to come into season to make our family's Pflaumenkuchen and Pflaumenmuss recipes. The are getting hard to find in this area.

Please feel free to send me about 20 lbs of "extra plums". LOL!

Got plums, need recipes!

LTilton, my recipes work with Italian prunes (the dark purple outside, gold inside, fleshy, oval plum). Is that the type that you have? French prunes are similar but not a flavourful and usually not as dark.
These are the baking/cooking plums in Europe, although they taste great as a fresh eating fruit as well.

Yes, mine is a Stanley, I believe.
