This picture is of a garden foe, but I still think it's a cool pic. This one is called "Plague of Locusts".

This little guy has lived in a hanging house plant I have outside which is at least 2 - 2 1/2 feet off the ground. How he gets in and out of there is a mystery as it's quite a jump. He takes off to go find something to eat but always comes back to the same plant in the same spot. I have really enjoyed looking for him in his plant all summer.

This guy followed me around all day one day and really enjoyed me taking his picture :)

This guy was in a "fur coat" but BOY could he jump!
He was very camera shy and got quite annoyed with me asking to please stand still....just for a second *lol*

I have found that these guys really enjoy having their pictures taken but you have to be quick *lol*

Here is another one. It looks a bit different than the previous one so I'm not sure if it is a different species or if it means they are male/female. They seemed to stay around the gardens later into the season this year than I have noticed in the past :)

Not sure what type of bird but sure looked nice against the blue sky. Was a little camera shy so I ended up with lots of scratches trying to keep up with him in the woods with my camera *lol*

Great pics, everyone! Love the thread idea!

I've had some pretty good luck this summer with my butterflies--here are a couple of Eastern Tiger Swallowtails on the verbena 'bonarienses' (which I wintersowed from collected seed).

Now I know why my milkweed has no lower leaves! I thought it was just loss from aphids but then I caught this guy eating them. Who knew? I love him/her!

He certainly has that ''caught in the act'' look

This guy stayed all day until I walked by one too many times too close to his roost. Doesn't he understand I need to water my flowers???

Oops! It's a Praying Mantis.

This is a roadrunner that found breakfast in my yard a few weeks ago. (taken thru the window) I didn't know bunnies ate milkweed OR roadrunners ate other birds!

Wow, I didn't know that about roadrunners either. Kind of shocking! At my house, they eat lizards :-)

What cool pics everyone is posting. I agree - GREAT thread idea!
