I have seeds collected from various large allium this year. Anyone have experience in germination allium seeds? For example, is it better to direct sow and if so what time of year?
Germinating allium
I started some seeds I had with the baggie method. I "transplanted" them as soon as I saw grow - about two weeks if I remember correctly, and kept them in my greenhouse for the winter. Must add that the temp. didn't go below 30F. I have quite a few tiny Allium plants going. Don't think I'll plant them in the garden this year. Will have to see how big they grow.
Good luck,
Elsa
