Are they hard to grow?
Gas Plant seeds
I never got one seed to sprout. I used baggie with coffee filter method and a small greenhouse box. I would love to hear a success story!

I am interested in growing this plant, too, and found these detailed notes from 'Rob's Plants' site on how he germinated the seeds.

He had some success but it does sound like it takes some doing...it also sounds like he didn't have a lot of success growing 'gas plant' in his garden but I read somewhere else that it requires 'sweet' soil...whatever that means!
I think 'gas plant is a host plant for the Giant Swallowtail butterflies--and that's why I want to try it in the garden....
Sweet soil means the plant likes a high alkaline soil Ph. There are a few places that have it for sale but its a bit steep and there is a several year wait for blooms. Maybe its not the plant for me...
