I have a Lantana 'Patriot Parasol' and have fallen in love w/ this thing. In my area it is an annual, and I was wondering how to collect seeds?
how to collect lantana seeds
This is what I have found in my searches...Hey..what happened here...
Okay, to sum it up, the seeds start green and when they turn black they are ready.

I don't know if your flowers pollenated but I was collecting the elongated flower head before I realized that wasn't the seed. The seed pod is actually a round circular beads that's attached to the flower head. None of mine set seeds but I noticed some in the nurseries had seeds on it.. That's how I knew I was collecting the wrong thing...
do you need to wait for the seeds to dry before picking them? I know the mockingbirds LOVE them so I lose a lot that way.
I would go ahead and put a netting over them to stop the birdies temporarily. Gets some tulle (They sell it at walmart for cheap-just make sure you get the one with the finer holes)) and wrap it around the bush, wrap tight. other than that you may be fighting a losing battle
