I have tried to germinate some chinese purple bell seeds without any success. Does anyone have any advice? these look like such interesting flowering vines that i was told can grow in shade. What experience has anyone had with this plant?
Chiness purple bell vine
What is the botanical name?
Rhodochiton
The seed from this vine germinates very quickly and easily if it is fresh. Once you have a vine, they flower mostly all year and you can just leave the seed pods on and pluck one when needed. They may germinate but take longer if not fresh. I would try again with fresh seed. And the plant does look as good as the pictures, its a really nice plant for a hanging basket.
