True Blue Flowers

Sterling, VA(Zone 6b)

Does anyone have experience with Summer nights Delphinium? I just planted it. I love the color.

Haven't had the delphinium, though it's very pretty.

One plant that I found with true blue flowers is Chinese Forget-Me-Not
Cynoglossum amabile. Very easy, I just throw out seed and it comes up!
But it's not a perennial, sorry, I forgot that this was the perennial forum!

I loved the plant. Mine died the same summer.

2 years ago I had 3 plants; last year, one remained; this year, naught.

How sad!

ctindell, your 'Summer Nights' is very pretty! I've been tempted to find some from this series - 'Summer Blues' is a lighter blue and there's even a white one - can't remember the name right now - they were specifically bred for heat tolerance and should do well with our heat and humidity. I planted D. grandiflorum 'Butterfly Blue' last fall and it's been blooming for over a month! This "true blue" is gorgeous.

I have a HEAVENLY BLUE morning glory that is heavenly blue! Does that count?? All of my other blue flowers are varying shades of purple.

I would say about the only "true blue" I got this year was my Blue Flax which I truly enjoyed. Although a very small flower, there are lots of them and they last for quite a long period. The foliage is very very "whispy" and fragile.

Not a perennial but I love my forget-me-nots. They are the only true blues I have--rather had they seem to be "pansies" for the heat!

My favorite color is purple but in the garden for some reason I am SO attracted to blue flowers :)

OOOOH Pixie, I LOVE that Speedwell!!! Absolutely stunning.
The picture under that which you were unsure about was identified for me on the Plant ID forum as Polemonium (Jacob's Ladder) most likely "Blue Pearl". I have one of those too and think it's so pretty :)

I LOVE seeing all your pictures :) Anywhere and Everywhere is GREAT!

Jmorth, you just I.D. one flower I was having a hard time to remember it's name. It just started blooming here a few days ago....I knew it was Campanula just couldn't recall the "Clips" part!
Fan Flower is not a perennial here, but it is a tender house plant or annual!!
