I have some berry bushes (currants, gooseberries, blueberries, salal, huckleberries etc) and fruit trees (apple, peach, plum etc).
Most of them have been in pots awhile, and many of the berries are bearing plenty of fruit. Can I plant them this time of year, or would it be better to wait until next year in early spring?
Transplanting berries and fruit trees
Your zone is warm enough you can wait until the fall when they drop their leaves to put them into the ground.
Here's some information http://www.hort.purdue.edu/ext/falltreeplanting.html

Essential,
Most of my currents, blueberries and gooseberries are in pots, and I routinely transplant them throughout the spring and summer. I do avoid the few weeks when fruit is ripening and am careful to minimize any disruption to roots. So far I have not had any problems, not even any sign of wilting. If you have the need, it might be worthwhile to try with a few, but be gentlile.
Amandaemily and Krowten,
Thanks for the tips! So it sounds like other than when they are bearing fruit/berries I can plant when it works for my schedule.
