I've had some success with cuttings of soft wood about 1/4" thick. Remove all leaves except one and remove any growing tip(s). I place in damp potting soil (with or without rooting hormone) and seal in plastic bag. Be sure to bury most of the stem, just leaving the leaf and maybe 1" out of the soil. Keep out of direct sun, but maintain good lighting. This has worked for me with Ken's Red, Issai, and Hardy Male, but didn't work with Cordifolia or Hardy Red yet. Percentage success has not been great, but I was not trying very hard either.

Thanks!

I've just had the same experience as I pruned back some of the rampant growth of my hardy kiwi's. I just pushed a few pieces into moist potting soil and about half of them took.
