This came up when I was explaining to Happy why no one would want to drink my well water. This road is named for the mineral springs spa that was behind here in the 1800s. They boasted of their seven springs with seven different kinds of minerals. All tasting horrible, apparently. LOL
I found this painting done in 1857 and I'm positive the artist was standing on what's now my land to paint it. The spa buildings are all long gone. They were burned during the Civil War.

Wow, that's some cool facts. I can understand about not drinking the water from a sulphur spring, YUCK! Unless you like that rotten egg smell. :)
I'll bring bottled water . . . .
By the way, the "line" from Woodstock they're talking about is a stagecoach. I won't drive my car on that road, it's horrible. It must have been a real adventure to travel up it in a stagecoach.
