and another..
DAILY PICTURES Vol. 13
So I decided to leave them alone for a while and moved to stake out the box in the front yard. This pair is just building their nest. They don't seem as wary of people and other goings on. The box is right in front of the window and a few feet from a very busy feeder area. The female (I think) didn't hesitate to fly to the box and go inside.

What a beautiful Marsh Wren photo! You can see every feather! Is that a cat tail that it is using for nesting material?
Panamon - outstanding photos - a real treat!
Very cute!
Don't know the name of this one but it is a fast marsh walker
Virginia Rail . . . good one to get!
Resin
Thanks for the ID Resin
Poor little woodpecker, still a little bald there :). Nice shot Gardenpom
lilyfnatn, yep it's Cat tail 'building material' ;)
What great pictures everyone. We had a sad thing over the weekend. We have a couple nesting orioles here and we found on a stump at the entrance to our woods, a pile of yellow feathers and a head. One of our female orioles must have been food to one of the hawks. So sad. Part of nature.
We did see many mama ducks and their little ducklings, an ospry fishing, and a couple eagles over the weekend. (probably looking for those ducklings)
Nice catch gardenpom! It must be fun to have young woodpeckers around to watch.
Oh that is sad cparts. But you are right, that is nature. This season of nesting and baby bird visits is the mst exciting and nerve wracking at the same time.
Here is a young squirrel that visited the window sill yesterday. I hadn't seen this one before. His has such big "Bambi eyes" .
Seagull, I'll check the ID later unless someone beats me to it
Laughing Gull

Thanks Resin!

OH my! I love all your photos.
Birds are so extrordanairy to me. I absolutley love Robins. The young one on the Bird bath is the best smile for me.

It looks a lot like one to me with one exception - the ones I have here have a very distinctive yellowy brown iris color. I wonder if it could be a different kind of thrasher or some kind of thrush.
I love your shore bird pictures Pell! I hope you are having a wonderful time!

I think this is a Brown Thrasher in my shrubbery.
Yep, spot on.
I used to see them all the time when I live beachside, but this is the first time here.
Like many ground-feeding and nesting birds, they are at high risk from cats - if you have a high cat population locally, that could explain the shortage of them.
Resin
Thanks, Lilyfantn and Resin. I wondered if it was a Thrush also, but they are not in this area at this time of year. Of course, I'm used to seeing the Brown Thrashers on the ground, searching for food, not up in the shrubbery. I have a six-foot wire fence around my yard, and only one cat out back with any possibility of catching a bird....in the 5% of the time she is not sleeping!
Really nice pic Linda!!!
Linda, that Wren of yours has a "being watched' look on the face :)
Nice shot!
Here's a Carolina Wren from my backyard
Ooops!
House Wren . . . no bright white eyebrow.
Resin
Ooops is right! Thanks Resin. We have Carolina Wrens here too, so I apologize for not double-checking. I corrected my post.
