MollyMc,

Wow, so beautiful and so exotic compared to what grows well in the upper zones. I guess a tropical storm can bring out the best too.

We too are excited about today's rain. This rainless May was very unusual for our area.

I love your parrot flower. Do you know the botanical name for it?

west Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Don't you just love rain? Never can get too much of it here--every time it rains, lots of things bloom. Nature's own fertilizer for bulbs. Very nice display there--and I know you guys were really thankful for that well-behaved tropical storm.

Marie,

Here it is in the plant files. http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/900/index.html

I would never have been able to get the spelling right.

Thank you Molly. I love perrenials and I did not even know this forum existed. Probably would have beenn better to not find it because now I will have help feeding my plant addiction!!

I've been away from this thread and it got buried. Theresa, thanks for bringing it back to life.

More's blooming in the gardens now and if I could just get that camera to act right, I'd have much better pictures.

I think this is some kind of sage. I planted them outside my back door, they are long and leggy and very heat hardy. They just keep growing and multiplying. So pretty blue.

Here's a long shot of one of the front beds/pathways.

There's wave petunias, lantana, gaura, white yarrow, and lots of grasses and other stuff (weeds).

Time to get out to do some gardening before playing today.
