I have heard that baptisia self sows, but never have seen any seedlings under my bush. Last fall I harvested some seeds and just for fun sprinkled them in a pot of begonias that I brought in over the winter. The begonias bloomed cheerfully all winter, and the baptisia seeds are sprouting this spring - no fuss, no muss, no prechill, no nothing...

Baptisia Seeds
I started a few yellow baptisia seeds over the winter. Most sprouted, but I lost several to dampning off. Now they seem to be just sitting and not really growing. Maybe I'll try a few more.
