Blue flowers - Part 2

Whidbey Island, WA(Zone 7a)

Beautiful blues, everyone and, Goldenfish, that Clematis is incredible!!!

This is my Sea Holly - very, very prickly, but a great plant - even when the flower "dies," it remains interesting.

Sea Holly is a great plant, wish I could grow it. It is a plant that has an 'alien' look, makes a great cut flower too.

We can't grow the showy bearded iris, but, we have an iris from Brazil that does nicely here, has it's own charm>

Wow, Pixie, if you remember the name of that beauty, I'd love to know what it is. It looks like a Polemonium. Is it?

I've been trying to find things in my garden that haven't already been posted, but it's getting difficult. Here's an iris that's growing in my fish pond.

This is the flower on a tiny alpine plant -- Phyteuma sieberi. If you enlarge it, you'll see that the detail is very pretty.

Another alpine plant -- Gentiana crassicaulis:

Something I picked up at a plant sale. I'm sure it's a Lobelia, but I don't know which one.

Here's Primula capitata, Lobelia Riviera Blue, and a cute kitty:

Zuzu, it could be Polemonium, it was given to me by my brother who live in the mountains here. I knew it would be hardy and I loved the blue flowers as they bloomed in spring. Here's another picture if it helps.

Wow, I didn't realize there were so many different blue plants. Those are some great pictures. Very informative thread for me.

Whidbey Island, WA(Zone 7a)

I hope I don't spot any of these plants at a nursery - I absolutely do not have room for anything more and have probably 25 things waiting for a home already.

Great photos of gorgeous plants, everyone!

Here's a Blue Star Columbine from my border. This is their first year (planted last fall).

I love columbine plants of all colors, but this one is super nice.

Redding, CA(Zone 8b)

Pixie, love that Polemonium, if that is what it is, and the creeping speedwell. I just love blue flowers. Hope someday to devote a section to just blues.
Here is my Delphinium 'Summer Blues', a dwarf Delphinium that I can't believe has been blooming for a long time in our 95-100 temps we have been having. This picture was taken today.

Pirl, that Robin Egg's Astilbe is incredible - gotta have that one!! I have pinks and reds and whites, but I've never seen anything like that.

That is SIMPLY Amazing Pirl! I have NEVER seen a blue Astilbe! Georgous!!

Design Master paints. Color is Robin's Egg #792

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

You lost me there Pirl *lol*. You "painted" the picture?

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

No, Kim, I spray painted the astilbe.

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

What a NEAT idea! Looks BEAUTIFUL!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Thanks. Many people don't even notice it. I find it amusing.

Whidbey Island, WA(Zone 7a)

LOL, Pirl - you got me good!!!!! Great paint job, by the way!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Sorry!

Here's 'Bid Daddy' hydrangea to get the thread back to where it should be.

Pirl, that Astilbe is so funny. I saw some gorgeous navy-blue Agapanthus lining the path to a garden once and asked the owner about it. She said her husband had spray-painted the flower heads of the plants.
