I collected some seeds from an Orchid Tree I saw at a botanical garden in southern Texas last year. The seeds are hard flat disc about one half to 3/4 inches in diameter. How do I properly sprout these seeds and grow them into a beautiful flowering tree. I suspect it will require sanding and soaking but I don't want to take any chances.
Thanks
Bauhinia purpurea seed propagation
Bauhinias actually germinate pretty easily, I soak them overnight and then plant them, I've used heat mats with mine but I'm not sure if they're necessary or not.
I read they have a short storage time. So sow extra.
Also half of mine just went soft and rotted!
