I'm new to seed collecting. Funny how I'm looking for them everywhere I go!
I collected redbud seeds in KS this spring.... leftover pods on the tree. Are these likely to be viable?

The should be viable...do you mean to say that these were last year's seeds still on the tree? This year's seeds are hardly mature enough for collecting yet.
Also, Redbud needs double stratification to germinate. That means two winters of freeze/thaw in the wild. you would need to duplicate this somehow if you plan to start the seeds indoors.
