My husband surprised me by having my flower beds mulched, to make it look nice. This is fine for my housegrown seedlings, but I had planned to direct sow some.
Do I have to clear away the mulch to direct sow, or will they manage to grow through the mulch. I have quite a large area to do, and was planning on direct sowing some Nigella...
sowing seeds in mulch?
I have a mulched bed I am growing in, and added some new seeds. I just pushed the mulch out of the way, leaving a 3" circle of soil around where the seeds are planted. Once they get a little taller, I'll push the mulch back in.
