That is an Absolutely Beautiful Bench and Remembrance for Doris.
For One of the Beautiful People...Inside and Out.
And for Whom Several of Us Miss from All of Our Past Seed Round-Robins.
So nice, so fitting a memory of Doris. :)
Laura
Thinking of my friend on this her day! Jo
I always think of Doris as the time of the Kentucky Roundup draws near.
God did a good thing when He made Doris. :)
ME TOO...
"eyes"
Thanks everyone for your kind words. Today would have been her 80th birthday.
Deb
Happy Birthday Doris in your heavenly HOME.
Sending chocolaty thoughts toward Heaven today....
Just thinking of my friend today....every time I read a Maxine Cartoon she comes to mind....or indugle in chocolate.... Jo
She pops in my head too from time to time. I had a lot of fun with her at my first IA RU, when you also attended. She wanted to learned tatting so she tried, and laughed and laughed. She finally decided it probably wasn't for her, maybe she'd try again later at home. I so enjoyed visiting with her. A real sweetheart!
Yep, a real darling of great joy for us all. There are many good memories of her for sure.
Three years ago, now. In some ways it seems like she's been gone much longer, in some ways it seems like it was just yesterday.
I miss you mom,
I miss you too Doris...
And so do I. Ellen
So do I.....I know you're having some really good fruitcake now!
"eyes"
She loved your fruitcake recipe, Eyes! Fruitcake and fudge!!
I can't make fudge without thinking of Doris.
And she always loved your fudge. The sweetest thing you did was when you sent her fudge when she was in the hospital. I lost the pictures I had of her with her fudge, but I know there is at least one somewhere on a DG thread of her opening her package with the fudge you sent.
Deb
I remember that picture. I have nothing but GOOD memories of that very special lady.
Today mom would have been 83. We're having pizza tonight from her favorite pizza place to celebrate her birthday. Happy Birthday, mom!!
Enjoy the pizza!
Happy Birthday Doris!!
I still miss my friend so much...I was 77 on Sept 5th...and "Eyes" had a BD this week.
I will eat pizza tonight too...in her honor and memory! Deb....Hugs to you. Jo
My dad would have been 83 yesterday. They were almost birthday pals. :) I sure miss him and it's been almost 7 years already. Hugs to you as you remember her today (and everyday!)
PS You need to add chocolate to your 'honor and memory' meal, Ms Jo. :D
Doris, Elena and I had some great fights over chocolate !! Jo
We had so much fun with all of that kidding around. Doris was such a sweetie and I loved her dearly. When we all get to heaven, we need to have a chocolate roundup. Maybe we could eat pizza first.
She loved my fruitcake.........miss that old "maxine" cohort.
"eyes"
She loved all you guys so much!! She just raved about your fruitcake, Eyes!! That and the fudge from Melody!! Thanks for the memories, and kind words, guys! It's nice to come back here and reminisce sometimes.
Deb
It is always good to see you and chat with you Deb. Take care and don't be a stranger.....
Deb...You will always have three Surrogate Moms in us.
HMMMM....Eyes....I'll bet I would LOVE your fruit cake too!! LOL Jo
Hey. Eyes....Where can we get a copy of that fruitcake? I love fruitcake.....but not quite as well as chocolate. LOL
