Texture - Part 3

White Lake, ON(Zone 4b)

I know it's spring somewhere! Shall we share some more texture pics this year?

Here's where we came from (Texture - Part 2)
http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/644397/#new

Tell us what the texture is or what it reminds you of.

Examples from the last two threads:

What kind of texture is it? What does it look or feel like? lumpy, rubbery, whispy, velvety, spiky, smooth, soft, lacy, bumpy, feathery, fluffy, satiny, fuzzy, puffy, leathery, stringy, transluscent, suede-like, spidery, gnarly, brainy, crinkled.

Or,

What does it remind you of? balloons, blood vessels, Kleenex, birthday candles, plastic, teflon, alligator skin, wet corduroy, carpet, powder puffs, hair, pincushion, tarantula, venetian blinds, bubble wrap, dish scrubber, lava, paper, ribbon, whitecaps.

Best new word from last thread: scissory (honour goes to grampapa)

Best question from last thread: "You mean moss comes in kinds"? (congrats, nap)

Now that's creative thinking, billyporter! Where there's a will there's a way. We had a nice sunny day today and most of the snow is finally gone. I went out to snap a few pics. No flowers yet, but I found a few interesting things.

Awesome! Any chance you can resend the close up pic, jkom51 because the copyright info hides the chicken head. I've never seen such a plant.

Jkom51 ~ what is the plant on the left of the lambs ears besides cool? : )) It is very pretty and a well matched foliage color... pod

Oakland, CA(Zone 9b)

podster, the plant on the left is Tanacetum haradjanii, sometimes called 'partridge feathers'.

sanannie, sorry the copyright lettering printed over the Melianthus major flowerhead. Hey, maybe we should call this the "Funky Chicken"! Am I dating myself or what???

Our winter was so mild this year that Purslane did not decline. This is my favorite flowering groundcover. It is cheerful.
