Hi folks,
Did a heavy pruning on my McIntosh apple tree here last week and discovered a lot of little holes all along the trunk. I'm suspecting woodpecker damage.. Should I worry about a possible weakening of the tree? Might the damage be sites for the entrance of opportunistic bugs or diseases? Any experienced orchardists out there?
Holes in my apple tree
I don't know, Theresa, but I suggest you also post this on the Tree forum. The people there know a lot about all kinds of trees.
A picture and those knowledgable tree folks will know.
