From Jason:
Here is what I often recommend for using castings
1) Seed flats & Potted Plants
a) Mix 10-20% castings with potting soil
b) Much more than 20% does not add much benefit for vegetables
c) For flowers, may use higher percentage ~30-35%
d) May also be worked into top layer of soil
2) Field Use
a) Line seed furrows with thin layer of castings
b) Place a few tablespoons (equivalent) beneath each transplant
3) Lawns
a) Apply castings as veneer or a liquid slurry
b) Work into soil for new lawns
c) Use as top dressing on established lawns
d) Approximately 10 lbs per 100 ft2
4) Trees and Shrubs
a) 1 to 5 cups of castings (size dependent) beneath root ball.
b) Established perennials, spread castings and cover with mulch

Donna, I don't know much about this, but I would love to try it. I would like 2 bags please. Do you use this yourself? How do you use it and what is a good ratio if you are mixing it in your garden? I read the links above, but would love to find out more about it's uses.
Janet,
I'll be getting my first load Wednesday. good Question!
GREAT for root growth!
I sent your question to Jason & will post answer in the spot above!
Thanks, Donna!
Donna, please put me down for 6 bags.
Deborah wants two bags.
Donna, 10 bags please
Donna,
I would like one bag.
Thank you for doing this!
Virginia

Bump!
Don't forget about the worm casting!
Want any worm casting??
I pick up my first purchase of 150 pounds - worm casting today. WOW what a bag of Gold they are! They even have eggs with red wiggler's in them too!! That's a added bonus. I'm mixing my WC with aged pine bark & a bit of sand for my salvia mix. Can't wait to see the results!
Also got to meet Jason Governo the Research Engineer at The University of Georgia.
And ladies he's not bad on the 'eyes' either, will have a handsome speaker @ the RU!
So don't forget to place your order & mail your check by May 1st.
You will not be disappointed with a bag of "Gold" worm casting to carry back to your garden!
Donna
I think everyone must be busy with spring stuff. I think in a few more weeks the roundup will be more on everyones minds and then they will all want their castings. I will help you bump it a few times until then. :)
My new beds are going to love the castings, I was actually thinking about getting some worms also.
chris
Donna,
Please make my order for four bags instead of two....thanks so much! I am thrilled they also have some eggs and worms in them...I can't wait to use this on my newer beds!
Great news about the worms and eggs, Donna.
Donna,
I will also bump my order up to two bags instead of one.
I've had great luck with my plants using worm castings. I moved into a brand new development that was mostly bare, hard packed red clay dirt, and now I have a thriving population of worms in all my beds. Really helps break up the dense clay filled soil!
Thank you again!
Virginia
Well do Virginia!
I'm use the casting in my cuttings containers for now, Jason said it would be great new root growth! They'll need all a boost!
I put my check in the mail today for 6 bags - wish I had them now!
JanetS,
I'll give a haller when rec!
Thanks
Donna
That was not me, but mine will go in the mail this week too, just got to make a run to the bank today and a deposit! LOL

I am going to try to drum up some more orders for you..LOL
Sorry my mistake Janet thanks for letting me know!
Yes, please do drum up some more order's, I feel that we'll

Donna
No problem...my check will go in the mail in the morning...thanks so much!
my eyes are open now!!
LOL! If you like old Iris...I have several that I got from my friend's mother's home and they should be good to share this year, when they start coming in, I will see what I have you might like....and if Deb isn't bringing any of the purple for you to the RU let me know and I will bring some of those too.
Deb & I are neighbors almost! We both need to visit each other and you too I hear!!
Yes, I do want all I can get of those beauties! Thats my color, wanting a large bed of them.
A show stopper long the Highway frontage with a mix of perennials. Which is about 300', plan is to have beds on the banks were I can't mow, or were the mower just about whats to turn over with me!! Last April the mower wasn't so kind to me, I sprain my ankle getting off of it and was down for 4 months! Now the dang heat has turn up and I can't go fast enough to catch up!!
But I'll keep on DIGGIN!!
Yes, you and Deb can come here and get Lantana, and butterfly bushes and all kinds of goodies...come on up!
Who's paid so far!
Azalea
Thanks,
Donna

Any eastern GA folks going to the RU who would be willing to tote a couple of bags of worm castings home for me? I would love some if I could pick them up closer to the Savannah area.
Check's in the mail!
