CANNA ? ( Continued )

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Thanks Paul .
You have been quiet of late .
Has Spring Sprung for you ?
Looking forward to some of your new Pics this spring .

Aurora, CO(Zone 5b)

Yup, that it has. Also, gf's mom is moving to Texas, so have been helping with that also. Driving across the mountains, abt 5 hrs one way, and getting a bunch of stuff that she wanted to give to us. Getting plants going, cleaning up the yard after winter, and working(some of us aren't retired yet and still have the nose to the grindstone). I've been lurking a bit, just not posting.

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Way to go . Thumbs up .

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

I'm in 7b-usually start mine in April,
but my cannas are starting to pop out of the ground I noticed yesterday.

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Hey Redtootsiepop ,
With a name like that .
Does that indicate you have red hair ?
They call me Ginger because I have red Hair .

' New White '
The Black 'Tropicanna' one
Someone else posted up here .
And one of the really BIG ones ( name escapes me )
Grows to about 8 ft tall.
Should get here tomorrow IF available .
Your frost gone yet ?
Others are saying April before planting starts .

Livermore, CA(Zone 9b)

I kinda have reddish hair - but actually I was eating a cherry tootsiepop the first time I logged onto a site (many moons ago) and the name has just "stuck"

that is some juicy pod!

Thanks tropicanna - I think the nights are warming up here and I'll be fine soon; who knows maybe I'll be lucky and one wintered over for me this time.

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

It would be interesting to know ,
Why every one chose the name they use !!!

Some one start a Thread .

Livermore, CA(Zone 9b)

this canna thread is a lively bunch.... I was talking to myself over at the clematis forum. All the pictures are lovely, and makes make anticipate the warm weather even moreso.

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

gingers a good conversationalist-

I don't know if the frost is gone for good-we usually have a "freak" frost
April is when I usually plant, the ones in the ground are coming up that were mulched.

Nice selection of new babies

Redtootsiepop
I WAS on many threads before here .
Palms & Cyc. An Art section , Ginger`s , and a few others .
I have found this one the most talkative .
Not that the others aren’t any good .
Just SLOW AS , 3 Days to get answers .
Where as here it`s less than 1 hour and you get an answer .
Very nice People here , and they have a good sense of humour .
I Love It Here . Hope they keep putting up with me .

No tease this month. It has been in the 70s all week except for yesterday and today. Spring is here!!

Aurora, CO(Zone 5b)

Yeah, spring has sprung, but still have to force myself to remember the inevitable late "killer" frost. AARrrgghhhh! Getting cannas in pots this weekend. Planting out some shrubs I overwintered in the garage. On my drive back from Montrose(west side of mountains) to Denver, I was wishing I had my camera. The valleys and mountains were beautiful. Still brown from winter, but the sun was shining like crazy, and at almost 2 miles high, it is majestic.

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Great for you .
Guess there is a lot of weeding to do in the garden then ?

Aurora, CO(Zone 5b)

Don't you know that is the most profligate plant in spring! LOL And that is my favorite chore, by far. Despite the 2 months of snow coverage, the little devils were still showing green when the snow melted. The grass has just started turning green this past week. Won't be long to crank up the mower. Kell, how're your tomatoes doing? Haven't seen pics of them lately.

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

I pulled the lot .
Only my upside-down one left .
It only has small fruit on it , about 1 1/2 inches .
I keep forgetting to water it .
But it recovers quickly .
Thank you for asking .

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Try to make one of these this year !!!

LMAO! I don't think so. I know I have not the patience for that- not by a long shot. Sorry to hear about your tom's. I still have a couple of weeks before I even start mine.
