seed catalog recommendations

East Aurora, NY(Zone 5a)

Can you recommend seed companies for English cottage gardens? I am trying to create an English cottage style garden and am looking for plants that should be in my garden. Websites would be great since I'm in the US. Book or magazine recommendations would be appreciated also. Thanks so much.

hi there,

One I like to use is Plantworld from Devon, they also do mixtures of seeds, which is a great way of filling up beds with loads of plants for not much money.

I've grown their Campanula/Sea-hollies/mixed annuals and mixed perrenials.
Germination is excellent, loads in a packet.

They have a web-site, I'll get back to you on that one.

Hi happytrail, I have also bought from Plantworld, there are some others which supply many interesting seeds.

Secretseeds I recently bought some seeds from, click on the pic for more info.

Chiltern seeds is the big one, a huge list and you will find many unusual ones there

If that link doesn't work just type in chilternseeds.co.uk it's a hosted site.

Plants of distinction is worth a look, they have a few different things.

I have not ordered from there yet, so can't say how good or bad they are. But i have used the ones mentioned allready and there not bad.

Wow, thanks everyone. I ordered a catalog from Plant World and it arrived here in the states in 3 days! Great selection, I have already chosen several seed packets. I just need more time to go through it a few more times before I finalize my order. Thanks again.
