"HI, I,m a newbie from England, who,s just discovered the delights of seed swops. I have a garden that,s about 110ft x 30ft. In it I got a pond, a waterfall, gravel patio, decking, flower beds, greenhouse, lawn, and at the very top a potager, which also contains my youngests play area, i.e. a swing and ladder hanging from an old apple tree. Next year I plan to build an igloo from living willow that she can use as a play house.
I have a mania for sowing seeds, preferably perrenials, climbers and grasses, I do do the odd annual, but it all depends on how much growing room I have left ! I,m lucky that I live in a fairly mild part of England, right down on the south coast, (I can just see the cliffs and water if I stand on tiptoe. :-} )
At the end of this season I intend to collect loads and loads of seeds, it,s such a good idea, that,s the nice thing about gardening most of us are pretty generous folks, and there,s nothing nicer than getting something for free.
At the moment I,m suffering from a bad relapse of my C.F.S, so I,m relegated to seed sowing indoors, but I aim to be out there soon tidying up and planting some of last years plants that are still in their pots. If not, my other half is going to have to take a crash course in gardening ! (If there,s one thing he hates, it,s gardening )When I can work out how to enter things on here I will, ( I,m a bit of a newbie to computers also )So watch this space, if you can bear the suspense" |
