Bought this plant last summer and it grew like crazy and bloomed in late fall. Would like to make more plants. Should I take cuttings?
Streptocarpella Cape Primrose How to make babies
I would. I have another type of streptocarpella and it roots easily. I did about 4" long cuttings with one node in the soil.
My streptocarpella 'Concord Blue' cuttings rooted easily in water, in maybe 10 or 12 days, although I didn't make a note of the timing. As a bonus, the plant branched where I took cuttings, and I think I'll do some more trimming to encourage it to fill in a bit more.
For additional info on gessies like your streptocarpella, drop in at the African Violet and Gesnariads forum sometime!
Thanks. I got some plastic cups and today is the day it will get a little trim.
