I accidentally knocked off a leaf from my precious plant. Can this leaf be rooted? how? thanks for your help.

Vossner... if you have a node along with the leaf just take it stick it in a smal pot of pottign soil and keep moist but not overwet. Don't let dry out. Takes them a long time to root, but root they will. They will form roots under the soil and send out a new shoot from of f the side undeath the soil. If you have a mister or old spray bottle, give it a mist every so often.

If you stil have the leaf ther e is another procedur e you may be able to try. know it works with Begonias and a few other plants but never tried it with phill'y. The leaf may be to thick.

Take the leaf and make several 1/2" cuts into it. Place whole leaf flat down on top of some lightly damp vermiculite. Keep misted. Ya could giv eit a try. The new plants form from along the cuts. Takes about 6 months for anew plant to emerge though and even longer to grow up.

Fell bad for yoru leaf. Know what it like to knock one off a special plant.

Happy, I will remember this method when I have the bottom part with the leaf. On the leaf I broke off, there is no node, no eye, no nothing. just a leaf w/stem. It's been in water w/ Superthrive, but it's getting yellower and yellower by the day. I don't think it's going to make it.
