This mulberry is supposed to be 'prolific' and 'early bearing'. Anyone know how prolific and how many years to bearing? And, of course, what about the flavor, if you've tasted it? Thanks,
Kukoso mulberry-
I've got a young graftling of it - produced a handful of fruits last year - second year after I grafted it. Good sized berries- about the same length as Ilinois Everbearing, but a bit more plump. Good flavor, but it's too soon for me to comment on its prolific-ness.
Be aware that the mulberries don't all perform exactly the same wherever they're grown.
Illinois Everbearing is the best in my collection, but a friend in MI says it's not that great for him - so he sent scionwood of his favorite; but here, his is just an average mulberry, at best - small to moderate fruit size with good flavor, but they all ripen in a short window, whereas IE bears over a 6-8 week period, with long berries and great flavor.
