My husband LOVES cherries. I REALLY want to plant a cherry tree for him. But it HAS to be in a pot, because we'll be moving in a year or so.
I saw this done before in Washington DC at the botanical gardens. There was a cherry TREE in a pot. The POT was maybe 2 feet wide and the tree was 8 feet tall.
I've got some DWARF apple trees in pots (not producing yet).... but a CHERRY?
(using caps is fun)
CHERRY TREE in a POT
Something like North Star maybe.
Hi, I've got a cherry tree in a pot, got it here http://www.pacificgroves.com/explore/fruit_trees_v2.html#compactstella
The trees that are so small are called "ultra dwarf patio tree" and you can recognise them by a symbol; a tree in a round frame.
They stay very small, don't allow them to grow higher than you would like them to be.
Photo; my tree now

that's a nice looking tree
I can't seem to find Pacific Groves in the garden watchdog
how do you like them as a company?
I didn't order online from them, I bought it from my local nursery.
Maybe you can ask around and see if there is a nursery near you that sells them. (or email them and ask)
The tree itself is great; good hight, well established rootsystem, stalk is about an inch wide, somewhat bigger.
I can't advise you about how they deal with customers, I'm sorry...
So, quality wise, A+ !
