Horsens, Denmark

THE book :o)
very lovely, your money was well spend

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Ohhhhhhhhhhh yes.................. I am very very impressed with the book!!!!!!

It is huge! Well worth the £33 that it cost!!! I can see why it cost so much................

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Good books are never cheap. £30 quid is quite normal for a good book. Cheaper ones usually have something missing...

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

Oh yes, that is actually quite cheap! Some books cost well over £100!

Well worth it!

Perhaps we can interest others to buy one too, what's the betting?? Soon we will have a whole Gladiolus club!

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

What......................... a book that costs £100............. noooooooooooo way!!

LOL.............. yesssssssss lets start a Gladiolus Club!!!!!!!!

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh soooooooooooooooooooo yummy.....................!!!!!!

33 GBP book wouldn't be cosidered all that all that expensive here in Iceland - most "big" books cost well over 100 GBP. Looks like a nice book - and glad you're enjoying it! :-)

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Wow....................... really???
I dont think i have ever seen a book that is £100............................
It is a nice book........................ lovely!!!!!!
Yes i am really enjoying it................. thank you

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

www.amazon.co.uk

Here you go i'm sure there will be some on here for you! Lol

Horsens, Denmark

Rannveig is right, books are also very expensive here.
Being a student I know how expensive they can be.
Think I till now, have bought for at least 26.000 danish kroners, what is that 2800£?
But I don`t pay for the education so I am not complaining ;o))

Yesssss a gladiolus club should be in order ;o)))

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Well...................... I am astounded.................. the most i have ever paid for a book is around £50!!!
Wow £2800.................... oh my god, thats an amazing amount of books for a student to buy!!
Some people dont have to pay for education here either................

Right lets start a Gladiolus club.....................

Horsens, Denmark

It is, but we just buy them and try not to think how much money we spend :o))

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

I have just looked on reuters currency converter.................. there are 11.028 danish krone to £1 GBP

So how old are you Monica............??? If you dont mind me asking!!!!!!

(Zone 5a)

Wow Monica that is a huge book bill - even by icelandic standards! Don't know how much I spent on books while studying at the university but I'm pretty sure it's not that much! Well it was five years and I never added it up so I don't really know - and it was 10 years ago so prices have gone up since then ......

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

Did you see the first book on Birds on the page with the Gladiolus book? £110

A little further down one on Butterflies, £95

My son did a degree in Physics, many of his books were around the £100 mark. They are specialist books, and not a huge number will be sold. Some can be got 2nd hand a little cheaper, but education can be expensive!

Monica, you will have to come up with a clever answer like Baa did in answer to Mark's question!

By the way Monica.............. Janet asked me to ask you how old you are.................... LMAO!!!!!!!!!!

Only joking.................... she didnt really!!!!!

Mark

Horsens, Denmark

Expensive eh? But cheap when you think that in many places you have to pay for the education.
Janet you are right name of the books are specialist books, the sad thing is they keep renewing them, so I alredy have “old” books.

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

I am 33 one of the older (and smartest LOL) in my class, don`t tell anyone though ;o))

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Hey it wasn't me! Mark, you are teasing!!!!!!!!!

Monica, you can start a thread on Daves Garden to ask for a new forum. Not a bad idea! I don't know if there are enough people into Gladiolus, but that could change! The bulb forum at the moment would be the place I guess to post.

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Janet

Have asked about starting a new Glad forum and have emailled you the details...................... so get it started Janet.....................LOL

Then we can have some fun!!!!!

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

Give me a few minutes and I will start the ball rolling on the bulbs forum, then take it to the next step!

BTW, my silverhill seeds arrived today! The packet had a Royal Mail business account paid label, but a customs form on the back, so they must send orders bulk to be distributed once here.

Now I have much sowing to do, they are Autumn sowing!

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

I have started the thread, but I accidentally spelled the word 'Gladiolus' in the thread title wrong!

I have asked Terry if she can rectify that!

http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/660781/

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Janet, what you like...................GLASIOLUS?? LOL

Do you think they can alter it???? Maybe have to redo it under the proper name .........

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

When Terry gets my dmail it should be fixable! That 's' happens to be next to the 'd' on the keyboard!

All the checking, and I THOUGHT I checked the title!

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

LOL........................ maybe you just got too excited about it all Janet!!!

As long as its fixable it will be ok....................

Hows your day been??? Get a few seeds sown??

Mark

Horsens, Denmark

Tried that as well, check all that had to be checked except the thread title.
I wrotte tinny garden instead of tiny :o)))
Wonder how a tinny garden would look like.
Good you got the tread started Janet.

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

Terry did fix it (thanks Terry!), I fixed another couple of errors I made too! I guess I did glaze over a little, the brain starts to swim when I get excited! I also dmailed Terry directly instead of using the contact button, sorry Terry!

My day has been fine thanks Mark, after the fog cleared (in the air) the sun came out, I went out and used up another lot of mixed compost. I didn't do what I was thinking of doing, i.e. sow seeds, but potted on some palms and crinum which are growing new roots quickly now.

I will now have to mix another wheelbarrow full of compost, I go through one of those in an afternoon mostly! I have lots of labels to prepare first, and at least 30 packets of seed that need sowing! I then need to make space to put them! jja seeds emailed and they are posting their seeds next week.

I also went onto chilterns seeds and ordered a few special seeds from them! Aaaarrrgh!

Oh Monica, a tinny garden! Blame the keyboard! You could say you were planning a Wizard of Oz garden with the Tin Man as a theme!

Yes I am pleased I got the thread started, lets hope we get some interest, already looking promising!

Horsens, Denmark

;o))) good idea and give him the red shoes to give a bit of extravaganza LOL
Oh wow you have been very very very busy, hope you have a rest day today. But one never does when you have a garden, and what a delight it is :o)

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

Yes Monica, I wanted to do something 'serious', but after a wander around taking a few pics I felt exhausted, the afternoon went so quickly anyway, nights are closing in on us!

I did manage to take pics of the gladiolus seeds, some work to enter them in PF now!

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

SUNDAY GLORIOUS SUNDAY!!! My day of rest.................... Hope the weather is good, get out into the garden for a while!!!!!
