Propagating Chinese Date(Jujube)

Can any one help me with starting Chinese Date from seed. I even tried placing the seed in food compartment of fridge for sixty to ninety days without luck. I say without luck as the seeds are still in pots but should have seen the light of day by now. I am growing plants in sub-tropical climate.
