Question on seeds

Arcata, CA(Zone 9b)

This year I tried to cross dizzy and a white lily. It was the only two in bloom at the time. I noticed that there are several seedpods developing. I have tried for several years to cross lilies but never could get the seeds to sprout. My question is: (1). When they do turn brown and I save them for next year, do I store them in the refrig. or freezer? and (2). Does Dizzy seeds need to have a cold period.
Thanks for the help.

Perhaps you planted chaff instead of good seeds? Or perhaps you didn't wait long enough to see them sprout? Also, Dizzy is an oriental lily and should be crossed with another oriental lily for best success. I will assume that your white lily is also an oriental. Oriental seeds take up to 6 months to germinate a leaf above the soil level. To illustrate, I started some oriental seeds the first of April (Elfin Delight x Mona Lisa). I put them in the fridge the first of June and removed them from the fridge just a few days ago. I now have 2 sprouts. That took..... 6 months! But don't plant them and stick them straight in the fridge. They need the warm cycle first (8-12 weeks at room temperature).

You can store your seeds in the freezer until you are ready to start them. They keep for years that way. Make sure they have air dried for at least a week or so.
