Florida Paintbrush

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

When Floridian was up visiting last June, we came across this plant. It was not any where near blooming so we weren't ready to go public on it.

I kept a close watch and took pictures anytime a little change occurred. We finally identified it as Florida Paintbrush and have been looking forward to all the flowers being promised in the fall.

Fall is here and so are the blooms. I just love these.

I am not the only one. The butterflies really love them too.

They are located in several different areas on the first 2 acres of my place, underneath the long leaf pines.

As a bonus there are also some similar pink blooms on the wild liatris growing out there too.

Great pics and plant Molly--I look forward to growing it myself!
