I have read that tree peonies are hard to propagate. I have read the directions for stratification but in our house refrigerator space is at a premium and after giving the local fishermen grief about leaving left-over bait in the fridge, I don't dare take up space with my garden experiments. Has anyone tried to propagate from seed sown directly into the ground or from layering? How did it go? Please let me know either way.
Tree Peony
I don't have any experience with these, but if you get cold enough winter temps I would think that planting them outside might give you the same effect as the cold stratification in the fridge.
We'll see what happens--I'll let you know.
