I have two pink hydrangeas planted about two feet apart in soil that is somewhat high in clay content. Before planting them a few years ago I did loosen the soil and added peat moss and some topsoil to the holes I planted in. The foliage on the plants is going very well and they get bigger every year. However, they have never bloomed. Any ideas on why this is happening?
Thanks
Hydrangeas won't bloom
Fred try this link.......http://www.hydrangeashydrangeas.com/
go under Q & A you might get your answer there
It is a good web site for hydrangeas lots of info.
Thanks. My hydrangeas were received as gifts so perhaps I have a variety that is not hardy in my zone.
mine didn't bloom this year either. have in the past. Maybe they know something I don't
You may have gotten a Hydrangea that is not bud hardy in your area. Other than that don't cut any blue/pink flowering Hydrangeas back in the spring beause they bloom on old wood.
