germinating date palm seed

I just two dates...so I have two seeds and I want to take a go at trying to grow a palm from seed. What should I do?!

Plant them (ideally, where you want them) and keep them moist, they should sprout within a few weeks. dates are one of the easiest palm seeds to sprout.

How far down should I plant them in the ground? And if I want to try a few in pots how deep to I put the seed in?

half an inch to an inch should be fine in pots. In the ground probably an inch or more, not sure though.
